EMBO meeting 2023:
Eukaryotic RNA turnover and viral biology
Brno, Czech Republic
Lena and Jeanine went to share research at an international conference focused on RNA turnover in the beautiful Czech Republic, and they visited Vienna along the way. Pilsner Urquell was the (unofficial) sponsor. Many new friends were made, and Jeanine was a poster prize winner! Fun fact: Brno was home to Gregor Mendel, and the conference included a tour of his museum and a gala in its courtyard.
The lab is visited by Dr. Juan Alfonzo, who was Jeanine’s undergraduate mentor. Jeanine hosted Juan via the student hosted seminar series in our department. It was so fun having him here and having the mentors unite!
The lab celebrates its first PhD candidacy success!
Jeanine passed her qualifying exam, so we of course had to celebrate. Friends joined us in Riverside park.
